Principals Message

Welcome to Kranz Intermediate School, home of the Cougars! Kranz has been
offering a high-quality education to families of El Monte and South El Monte for over
fifty years. We are committed to providing an education that prepares our students
for the 21 st century. Our students are provided with curriculum, instruction, and
experiences that allow them to develop their critical thinking and articulation skills
as well as their modern technological skills. Through our implementation of our
Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) framework Kranz students are
supported in being excellent citizens both on and off campus. Kranz also offers an
outstanding school wide AVID program that provides instructional and
organizational support for students. The Project Lead the Way (PLTW) and Sea
Perch STEM program provides opportunities for interested students to be a part of
teams that compete in middle school competitions in drone flying, robotics, and
computer science. We also offer an outstanding marching band program, after
school athletics, and extensive opportunities for academic support. On behalf of the
Kranz staff, I invite you to contact our friendly and knowledgeable office staff to
arrange for a tour of our campus.
